Bowling

We had some holiday time off for Hari Raya and school testing week. Patrick and I came by this bowling alley and thought the kids would enjoy it. We showed up the moment it opened and they didn't know what hit them!
We were told it was a bowling alley only for adults so they didn't have any bumper pads. And I thought, "What adults come bowling at 10 in the morning?!"
We did see a couple come and they giggled at the sight of us.

Here's Patrick showing the kids some basic moves. They did ok. The balls were really heavy but they seemed to manage them alright. No one lost a toe.
Ronin was by far, the most into it. He got quite competitive and concerned about who's turn it was and how many points were being scored. It took some effort to keep himself in control, but for the most part, he did it.

I was on baby duty. This was the one moment they were actually standing still.

Kai kept rolling around the floor with his ball. His feet were filthy black by the time it was over.

Super Bowl was super awesome!

For some reason this picture of Cache makes him look like we live in the 70's or something. Why is that? The bowl cut? The long socks or the sweet color matching of his clothes? It's hard to tell.
We were all really happy about the time off. Everybody's been going steady for some time now and we needed the break. Both big boys had days from school and Patrick had a day for work. We've been to the beach and the pool and got in bowling and lots of food in between. We feel pretty good about the time we've had to spend together since its going to be a hard month or so coming up with Patrick's work schedule. He got some good "boy time" in. Makes life feel a bit more balanced and fun!
