Cavalia
Patrick and I hit the town for last weeks date night. Cavalia is playing for a few weeks and the 'theatre' in us drove us to go.
Just a little "business district" skyline for ya. There is just as many buildings not seen as are in this picture. It's actually quite stunning in real life. So much for iPhones taking great photos ; )
The show was in a big tent down by the water at Marina Bay Sands. Kind of a cool set up even if the seats were like 'nose-bleed baseball stadium' style. How much were these tickets again? Seriously, you think they could have sprung for some cushions! We were both in pain by the time it was over.
And here is the happy theatre going couple. Selfie style. The theatre offered here is, well.... lets just say, we miss New York. Period.
Ok. So the lowdown of the show. I really liked it. But had zero expectations. Patrick was bothered by the set and said it seemed sloppy, but lets face it, he does this every day, so he would know. It's the same with me when I sit through theatre acting, or even movies. The actress in me has to analyse every little thing and it makes it SO not fun. Luckily the only thing going on here was acrobatics (which were amazing!) and horse tricks. And you know what... you can only teach a pony so many things. Poor animals. Just running around stage cause they don't know what else to do. With that said, they are beautiful! They are definitely better taken care of than the circus animals we saw in Russia. That was just terrifying!
All in all, date night was fun. As a side adventure, my shoe broke right before dinner, so it was a mad dash to buy a cheap replacement pair (at Marina Bay Sands? Whatever!!) and after wearing them for 30 minutes, the blisters were so bad I couldn't stand them anymore. I walked around barefoot the rest of the night. But whether its to a show or a barefoot walk around town, when I'm with this guy, it doesn't really matter.
