Taekwondo and Ninjas and stuff

The boys have been obsessed with ninjas for the last 6 months. I blame Lego for it. We have slowly been collecting all the Ninjago Lego sets and it has had Ronin itching to get back to his martial arts since leaving New York. And because Cache is a little brother, he wants to do it too. Fortunately he is finally at the age that he can actually participate and enjoy it! They both have been role playing as ninjas. Complete with kicking, punching, meditating and even tag lines. I knew I had to do something fast. When I was out, I ran into some boys walking down the street dressed in some Taekwondo outfits. I stopped them to investigate. Turns out these kids take Taekwondo right down the street from our condo AND they also live in our complex. Just one tower over. Talk about jackpot!So the boys had their third lesson this week and got their official 'ninja' outfits. The tops came with cool patches and their name embroidered on the front which made them excited. Plus they both received a kicking/punching target which have already been taken away due to misuse. Besides beating each other with them, Ronin kept kicking his so hard his toe started to bleed. Now his nice white uniform has blood on the hem. *sigh*

Needless to say the are loving it. Really. The added bonus being meeting new boys that live in our complex. That right there is a sweet blessing. There are a lot of boys in our neighborhood and so many of them take Taekwondo! We are going swimming with a few of them this weekend. Hopefully they will all hit it off and play well because we all know how nice it is to have good friends close by.
