Buggy Boys

Grandma S. sent an Easter package for us today. It took me a while to realize Ronin was out on the grass dancing with it in his pj's. Of course the pj thing is nothing new, but the dancing with a big box was a little out of the norm.
We ripped it open to find a wonderful assortment of Easter goods. Chocolate bunnies (talk about flash back!) egg dying kits, easter baskets and these really cool bug catcher kits. Grandma S. realizes now that we are out of the city we might actually have some cool bugs... no lousy cockroaches for us. No-siree-bob! Only swank , high flying, groovy bugs that live in the burbs and that we have yet to see....
But we look pretty nice with our bug catching gear:

Cache sportin' his bug books while he uses his digger to rip out my flowers. aahhhh cute little munchkin!
Ronin, still in his pj's hammin' it up for the camera. I tried to explain that Grandma sent 2 of everything so he could have his own. But he still thought it was necessary to steal Cache's. He kept running in the house saying. "I got one. I totally got one!" Only to be followed by, "Oh, I guess not." And out he ran again. It was a bit cold today so I think in general bugs were taking the day off.  We had a horrible hail storm last night and  I really thought the house would blow away. That's the cynicle side of me since we only just bought the darn thing two days ago. Which brings me to the funny (or not so funny) story of the week.

Last Tues. Patrick was scheduled for a trip to Vancouver for a few days. He was to come home Thurs. and then he had Friday off so we could go to the circus with some friends and then close on the house. Well, the trip was cancelled and we were both kind of excited and went about our week. Wed. night came along and he got a call from Canada saying he had to come right away and there was no way around it! (insert bossy business voice here) SO he frantically booked flights, hotel and left for the office Thurs. morning. He then had 2 hours to contact our attorney, get a notarized copy of a Power of Attorney signed and faxed and get on a plane. He said it was the most stressful 2 hours he has spent to date. Luckily we got it all signed and squared away, I finally got the bank checks on friday, headed to the signing and gave away all our money. So we are now home owners (again) and half of us wasn't even present! Patrick's trip was a success and he took today off to spend with us. He has been so busy cleaning the house and putting together the chairs that I just couldn't bring myself to finish. We love having him home and we love HAVING a home!

Now that you officially have a home, when are you going to invite everyone up for a house warming party? (uh, yes, this is a lame excuse of inviting myself to your house...can it please be a weekend :)
