Desaru: The boat ride

We took a last minute trip with some good friends who were leaving Singapore for a new adventure in the states. We decided on Desaru Malaysia. Not sure why now, but it was close and cheap so we figured we would try it.

We started out at the ferry terminal and took a 25 minute ride on a ferry to get to the beach resort.

We had a lot of kids between us! (this is still missing 2!) The kids have loved being friends for the past two years we have been here. This sweet family was the first to welcome us as we sat jet-lagged and bleary eyed across their dinner table the first sunday after we arrived. They have been instrumental in our assimilation to Singapore and we will always remember their love and hospitality.

We were so glad to get this time together. I am sure they were so busy packing and getting ready to fly home but they took time out to be with us. We are forever grateful.

The ferry terminal told us to be early to get a good organised. They didn't say that we would be the ONLY ones there, so we wouldn't need an hour with 7 kids on the terminal platform waiting to board.

The kids had to get creative so they wouldn't get BORED! But we finally got on and in no time flat we were on our way!
