Snow City

We had tickets to Snow City for almost a year. First purchased when we moved here last january, we knew we had to use them, or loose them. So since Gpa was here (and he was here when we bought the tickets) we figured it was best to use them up now! Snow City is an indoor-artificial snow-tubing hill.

The thing about Snow City is its pretty run down. The outerwear they give you to use is falling apart, the "snow" thats on the tubing hill is a dingy brown and the animatronic polar bear is just down right monsterous. His metal tongue is cutting through his mouth. The fur is dripping with dirt and its just sad looking.
But because we are sweating every minute of everyday here, being inside and getting the chance to actually wear a coat, made all the kids happy as can be.

We did our best to dig out some long sleeved shirts so the kids could have a few more layers on. Ronin kept saying, "Oh, I remember this!" as we would pull things out. They were just as excited about wearing their old clothes as they were about tubing. Kai got this track suit as a hand-me-down from a NY friend. It was SO cute on him, I wished it was cold here so he could wear it all the time.

And as with all other things Singapore, you couldn't take your camera into the tubing area so the only pictures taken were by "certified photographers". Basically they have a monopoly on the market and charge you an arm and a leg for each photo at the end. And we had some good ones! But we only purchased this one. Proof that Gpa was here and proof that it was indeed cold. (all this was made of ice.)

We had an hour to play but didn't make it past 30 minutes because it was SO cold! I wish we had brought hats! Our noses were cold and red. But the tubing was pretty good considering it was an indoor ramp with artificial snow/ice on it. At one point in the hill you really did think you were going to fly right off (and actually one person, not in our company, did) Luckily there were no accidents and I think the boys had fun. Ronin was a bit nervous, even after going down a few times. And to be honest, after dragging my butt down the hill (the tubes were SO small!) and holding on for dear life to keep Kai safe, I wasn't too keen on going much more either.
We went outside and promptly started sweating again and our pants were wet the rest of the day. But considering how much we sweat, they would have been anyway. Fun times with Gpa and Snow City!
