Cache's School: Columbus Learning

As I stated in a previous post, we are moving Cache to a different school in just 2 weeks. This decision did not come easily but I do hope it will be better for him and his growth. Even once we made the decision, I have second guessed it frequently, but now the wheels are in motion and we are going to try it. Its a great school so I know he will be happy there. So to say goodbye we are going to do a little post on the school he will be leaving and a few things he did while he was there. This is Columbus School. Here is his class and his teacher, Ms. Joy.
Here he is using the smart board. Which is so amazing to see in preschool. (or K1 as they call it here) He has learned to read and write here. He has spelling tests frequently. This weeks words are FAN, TRAP and FOURTEEN. Don't really know why, but thats what they are. He has turned into a really great reader and is learning a lot here.
Here he is on his very first field trip which he was ecstatic for! I think he finally felt like a big kid being able to go on a bus with his class after watching Ronin do it for so many years. I don't remember where they went either, isn't that horrible!?
Here is the entire K1and K2 group (K2 is kindergarten in the states)
I guess he was given a chance to come up to the stage to participate which I am sure he loved as well.
I really love Cache's teacher here and am sad he will miss out on being with her, but we hope that in his new school he will be able to feel a bit more love and affection from ALL the teachers. Also the environment is a lot calmer since there are fewer children there and I think he will thrive and create closer friendships, which is something he hasn't be able to do. I think this is part culture, personality and environment. He is a sensitive child who doesn't express his feelings very freely and we feel a quieter, smaller place will help him channel himself a bit better. And as a bonus he will get to stay longer in the day (he is bored at home!) and they have a possible P1 program just incase he can't get into public school on the P1 level (which is difficult to say the least)
All in all, it will hopefully be a good experience and if anything, he is excited to get different uniforms ; )
